OCCUPY LIVING ROOM

Nutmeg and Sophie and I recently started a movement called Occupy Living Room. We are outraged! We don't think its fair. My Mom says our complaints are a little vague and that we need to organize our strategy. That we can't just protest and complain without putting forth some decisive bullet points of what we want to change.

So here are our demands:

We want to eat big people food.
We want to walk on two feet.
We think the current system around the house is totally tyrannical.
We are socialists and want justice.
We resent people thinking we don't understand this whole Christmas business.(We get it-we totally get it!)

So here's how its gonna go-this movement OCCUPY LIVING ROOM. Me, Nutmeg and Sophie are not going to leave until we are good and ready. OK, Nutmeg says she might leave if somebody feeds her. But me & Sophie will stay. At least until our bedtime. We want justice to be served.

Me & My Best Friend, Sophie

This is Sophie. Sophie is a giraffe. She is my best friend. Her and Nutmeg. Sometimes people mistake Sophie for a doggie chew toy because she squeaks when you squeeze her. This offends her. She is from France and gets insulted easily. But she is so fun! (Thanks Uncle David and Auntie Roxane!) She is 50 years old, but doesn't look a day over three months. My mom said that if she were from my Montana grandparents, she might indeed be a doggie chewy toy, but that that is out of the question since she came from Uncle David and Aunt Roxane who have very discriminating taste. She is very sophisticated and fun.

Sophie and I have private jokes that no one else knows about. She and I have in-jokes about Nutmeg and Mom and Dad. Sometimes we just crack each other up! I never knew I would have so much in common with a giraffe.

Oh, Sophie, I love you!

Wear That Party Dress Today

So I was lucky enough to be sent loads of great stuff from my boyfriend (OK he doesn't know we are boyfriend and girlfriend yet, but, you know, long distance relationships are hard.) Jack had sent me lots of cool clothes. So I am comfortable in my femininity and like throwing the ladies from the neighborhood off track a little. Good to keep people guessing. As if a girl can't wear a tractor shirt!

Come on, its 2012, people. We are way beyond blue and pinks of the yester-year defining our genders, right? So I had been wearing my "boyfriend" Jacks hand me downs, when I realized, hey, I'm not gonna be a size newborn much longer! So I told my mom, "Stop saving that party dress for a special occasion!" It was in the closet, prestine and unworn. No use in saving it for some vague future event. Before you know it I'll be wearing 6 month old clothes!

The most special ocassion is TODAY. I am a live-in-the-moment-type-of-girl. So everybody, I say, pull out that special dress or favorite toy and lets party like, well, like we are at a party. I am going to wear party dresses to the grocery store and if I spit up or poop on them, hey, so be it.

Breastmilk: Yum! We Love It!

Breast milk: Yum We love it! It's sweet and delicious and warm. I read on the Internet others think so too. There is a store in London that actually sells ice cream made of breast milk! My mom says, "Yuck!" But that trip to the ice cream parlor is definitely going on my bucket list! My mom says she doesn't like me using the term 'bucket list', that it kind of annoys her, but, whatever! Its a-going on mine!

My Eviction Story

So here's the story of how I came to live where I am living now. I used to live by myself. I had a great place, maybe a little cramped, but the heating was free and food came with the place. Then one day, all of a sudden, I got an eviction notice! The landlord, she was like, ok buddy, you gotta get your things and get out of here! I was pissed! I mean, I don't know much about landlord tenant laws- but that did not seem right. So after she kicked me out, she was like, well I guess you can live with my husband and me. She said I could stay for eighteen or so years. But I am watching them close. Because I haven't got anything in writing. And last time she only let me stay nine months or so. Well, I talked to some other babies and apparently this sort of thing happens much more than you would think. Just about everyone I talked to had been through a similar kind of thing. If this has happened to you- tell me your story. I think something should be done. It's not fair.

A Word on Teething

This video is from our guest contributor, Eliza. Eliza is my cousin. Eliza is also an expert in teething, and has recently also lost several teeth, most recently her front one! I have no teeth. I am thinking I might start getting some in the next few months.

Do you have teeth? Have you ever met the tooth fairie? I heard you can make a lot of money from the tooth faerie, so I am thinking I might look into doing that full time for my occupation. Growing and selling teeth.

Check out Eliza's words of wisdom, posted from Ballard. Signing off for now,

Why I Blog

Hello Folks!

My name is Opal Miller Jakupcak Miller. I have watched my big sis, Grace, blog and I think she is so cool, I decided it was time for me to blog too!

There are a lot of blogs out there-but none that I have found that cover such pertinent topics as Eating Ones Feet, Carseat Discomforts, Breastmilk: Yum, We like it! and How to tell the difference between your big hairy dog and your big hairy dad. (They are not to be confused!)

So I am excited to announce the start of my blog. If you have ideas, such as my cousin, Eliza does, for topics, please let me know and you can contribute, too. Eliza is working on an informational video for homemade craft ideas for baby toys. She also has done a great informational segment on teething: how to slow it down.

Keep an eye out for new posts and pictures!
